January Favorites!

Time to reveal my favorite products that I haven’t been able to put down this month! On a daily-basis, these are the items I reach for and automatically know will work with any makeup look! I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had something represented for face, eyes and lips this month. Also all of these products were new discoveries to me during the month! I hadn’t previously tried them or versions of them before, so it was awesome to have great first impressions of each item!

Shoutout to my cousins for getting me the Anastasia Beverly Hills “Modern Renaissance” eyeshadow palette! I wanted this so bad, but constantly convinced myself I didn’t “need” it and had similar shades in my collection. However, once I swatched and applied these gorgeous shadows on my eyes, I realized how pigmented and special they are! The matte shades in this palette are super rich and buttery, very blendable and last all day on the eyes! The shimmery shades are really subtle and not overly glittery, which I personally love! You can definitely build them up to be more metallic by spraying your brush with M.A.C Fix Plus or another makeup setting mist! If you love warm toned eyeshadows and want a palette that will certainly inspire creativity, then I would pick this one up! I definitely want to use this for a Valentine’s Day makeup look, so let me know if you would like to see a blog post on that!

Too Faced produces my absolute favorite bronzers on the market, so I was super excited to finally try out their “Sweethearts Bronzer” in the shade, “Sweet Tea.” As you can see, it is split into a lighter and darker shade, but typically I just mix the two with a fluffy powder brush and dust it onto the places the sun would naturally hit my face! I have been loving it since the color isn’t too warm or too cool toned. It gives your skin a very radiant and natural glow, without being glittery, which can be hard to find in a bronzer! I seriously use this product every single day!

The L’Oreal “Magic Lumi” primer is a product that is constantly raved about on YouTube and other beauty blogs! When it was at its peak of popularity, I had super oily skin and the thought of using a radiant primer actually scared me. For whatever reason, my skin totally changed throughout the years and has become super dry and in need of moisture! Now that I am all about the dewy-skin products, I had to try this out! Once you apply it on your skin, it immediately gives you a pearly glow that is definitely not subtle. At first this made me nervous and I worried it could potentially emphasize pores or texture, but once I put foundation or powder on top, it looks actually turns out really beautiful! Make sure you put this on your shopping list if you have dry skin and want to give your face a natural glow!

I picked up a cute, little holiday set from Laura Mercier that four featured miniature versions of her top rated “Caviar Sticks,” which are basically her signature cream eyeshadows! My favorite shade in the set is, “Rose Gold” because it’s super wearable and lasts all day long! Sometimes I use this product as an eyeshadow base, but mostly I just blend it on my eyelids with my finger and wear it alone! It is super quick and easy, plus I never have to worry about it creasing or fading throughout the day! I really want to try other Laura Mercier products because I’ve been so impressed with these and the translucent finishing powder, so let me know what items in her line are your favorite!

Thankful for my cousins once again, because they gave me this NYX “Lip Lingerie” liquid lipstick in the shade, “Ruffle Trim.” I am so in love with this formula because it dries down super matte, but isn’t drying on the lips or uncomfortable in any way! This product does not settle into the lines on your lip and has such a lightweight, moussey texture! I love the shade selection too because they’re wearable on a day-to-day basis! They are also a really great price for a drugstore liquid lipstick!

My first Charlotte Tilbury purchase is the famous, “Lip Cheat” in the shade “Iconic Nude.” This lip liner is seriously holy grail status because it does not fade or transfer. I love the look of fuller, more plump lips, but sometimes worry that lip liners may over exaggerate in a really unnatural way! If you start outlining at the corner of your top lip, you will give yourself a guide on how to enhance your lip line in a balanced way! Do the same on the bottom lip, by beginning on the corner and you will find it’s a lot easier to over line your lips in a subtle way! This shade is the perfect natural lip liner for my lip shade because it has a brown, neutral undertone, rather than pink or red. This helps give a natural looking shadow-effect whenever I layer a lipstick or lip gloss on top!

Thanks for reading about the makeup I have been loving during the month of January! I really hope I helped you discover a product that maybe you were on the fence about before! Please let me know what new products have worked their way to the top of your favorites list this month! I love reading your suggestions and trying out makeup that other beauty lovers are enjoying! Have a wonderful week and thank you again for reading!

Too Faced “Chocolate Chip” Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches!

Lately, I’ve been loving products that give me a natural makeup look on a day-to-day basis. Matte eyeshadows are an easy way to add depth and dimension to your eyes, without being too bold. I’ve tried so many matte eyeshadows from drugstore and high-end brands and let me tell ya; they’re not all created equally. Whenever you find a creamy and evenly pigmented matte shadow, you immediately buy because they are hard to find! Most are chalky and blend out patchy and uneven. That’s why I was thrilled to find the Too Faced “Chocolate Chip” Matte Eyeshadow Palette! It’s super small and compact, making it perfect for travel. However, it’s also packed with 11 different shades so you can be inspired to create multiple eye looks! Another major selling point is that it does indeed smell like chocolate, which is definitely the most delightful scent if you ask me!

Too Faced eyeshadows are always super pigmented, but matte shades aren’t always the easiest to formulate. The ones in this palette are pretty great, for the most part! There are a few shades that are pretty dusty and have fallout when you blend them out, but I think that’s pretty common with soft eyeshadows.

I do have some favorite eyeshadows in the palette that I can see myself using on a daily basis! “White Chocolate” is the best to set your entire eyelid and help the other colors blend out as you layer them on. I love “Creme Brulee” to buff into my crease for a natural transition shade! “Strawberry Bon Bon” is seriously the most pigmented and bright, light pink shade I’ve ever tried! This is gorgeous to wear all over the eyelid and I’m definitely planning on using it on Valentine’s Day! “Gilded Ganache” is a rich, olive-green, matte shade that is super unique! I really love wearing, “Candied Violet” all over my eyelid and noticed that it really makes my brown eye color pop!

I would recommend this palette to anyone that enjoys wearing matte eyeshadows and wants to work with a neutral shade selection! I think it’s super easy and great for everyday use, but also a wonderful addition if you need matte colors to blend out your more dramatic looks! I think it’s reasonably priced at $26 for 11 high-end eyeshadows! Have you tried the Too Faced “White Chocolate Chip” palette? I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m still curious to know if it’s good so let me know if you have it and love it! I feel like more and more brands are releasing matte eyeshadows, so what are your favorite palettes or single shades?! Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading!

It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette Review!

Whenever I’m rushing out the door for work or attempting to pack lightly for a trip, I always turn to my multi-use, face palettes to consolidate the makeup application process! Reaching for a single palette in the morning helps me complete my every day makeup routine faster, so I’m always in the market for a good one! I recently came across the It Cosmetics “Je Ne Sais Quoi” face palette at Ulta and was instantly intrigued! First of all, it seemed to be worth the money since it only cost $42 and was valued at $80 worth of product. It Cosmetics is a prestigious brand with a reputation for being formulated with great skincare ingredients since the brand was developed with the help of plastic surgeons, so it’s hard to pass up whenever I can find it at an “on sale” price! Secondly, this has a face powder, bronzer, blush and highlight! That’s everything you need to finish off your face (and eyes) efficiently!

Starting in the top left corner, we have the new “Bye Bye Pores Blush.” This product is supposed to add color to the face, without settling into fine lines or emphasizing unsightly pores. It’s a very fresh, matte pink color that instantly awakens the look of your skin and provides a healthy dose of color to your face. I love how long-wearing this product is as well! I noticed the color was still vibrant and opaque 12 hours after applying!

To the right of the blush, is the translucent face powder, which happens to be their best selling and award-winning, “Bye Bye Pores Pressed Poreless Finish Airbrush Pressed Powder.” I’ve never gotten the chance to try this product before this palette, but I had a “where have you been all my life” moment after applying! It’s so silky and definitely not chalky or drying, which are characteristics of many translucent powders! This is awesome for setting the under eye area after applying concealer, or using as an all over setting powder after liquid foundation! Either way, this powder seriously fills in any pores and will glide over any dry skin or textured areas on the face!

Beneath the blush is the new “Sunshine in a Compact Matte Bronzer!” This product is meant to warm up your face and provide a subtle, bronzed glow to your entire complexion. This particular shade is a little light for my medium skin tone, but I think it would be perfect for anyone with a fair-to-light complexion! I will say this was a slight disappointment to me because it’s really not my kind of bronzer, but it is useable to blend out a contour or to quickly swipe on my eyes for some subtle definition. It is a very long lasting formula and blends beautifully on the skin, it’s just a really light color that you have to take time building up!

Lastly, the new “Perfect Lighting Luminizer” is in the bottom right corner of the palette and is definitely my favorite thing about this! It’s such a beautiful, champagne-gold glow that lasts for such a long time! It’s very shiny, but subtle since it doesn’t have any glitter! This instantly makes your face look hydrated and glowy, which I love for the Winter months! I can see this working on so many skin tones, so I was very happy that this specific shade was chosen for the palette!

I do think this product is worth the money and I would totally recommend it to friends and family! I think this is great if you’re interested in all-in-one palette that delivers on it’s claim to perfect the look of your skin and give a gorgeous glow! After using all of these products together, I can totally see the cohesiveness of selecting these shades for the palette. Each one blends seamlessly into the next; giving a soft, yet sculpted appearance to your face. You can totally use the bronzer and highlight shades as eyeshadows and shorten your makeup routine even more! I think this is great for travel and would make an awesome gift for a minimal makeup girl that wants all of her products in one compact! It Cosmetics is an awesome brand, so it’s a relief that their formula isn’t changed even though they’re in a palette form!

What do you think of multi-purpose palettes? Do you like having all of your face products in one compact, or do you enjoy using multiple makeup items from different brands? Let me know in the comments section! Also let me know what your all-time favorite palettes are so I can try them out next! Thank you so much for reading!
