Too Faced “Peanut Butter and Honey” Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the new Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Palette and I was able to pick one up before it officially releases on March 1st! I wanted to review and swatch it for you guys to see if it truly lives up to all the hype it’s gotten on social media! If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know some of my favorite and most used eyeshadow palettes are by Too Faced! The Peanut Butter and Jelly palette is still a product that I reach for on a weekly basis! I had very high standards when trying this one because each previous palette has always included rich, creamy eyeshadows that were evenly pigmented. Plus, I was super excited to smell this one in particular since I knew the scent was going to be honey, which is one of my absolute favorites!

Just looking at the shades in this palette, I can tell it’ll be something I reach for all the time since it’s all warm, neutral shades. The majority of this palette is matte, with only a few shades being shimmery! I think there are some fun, unique shades in there, which help me feel inspired to step out of my comfort zone (ex. “Honey Buns,” the bright yellow) however, there are enough “safe” colors for me to create a wearable, every day makeup look!

Once I started swatching these shadows, I did notice some inconsistency in the formula. Some of the shades are really buttery and pigmented, others are more dry feeling and require effort to build up the color. We will start the review of each individual shade with, “Creamed Honey,” which I would describe as a pearly, cream shade that is more sheer in pigmentation. I think this is a really easy all-over-the-lid color that you can wear on a daily basis. I will say that once I tried this shade on my eyelid, with a primer underneath, it showed up a lot brighter and allowed the sparkles to come through in a more noticeable way. “Peanut Butter” is one of my most favorite shades in the entire palette because it’s a matter, super warm, rich cocoa brown that is perfect for a transition shade in the crease or blown out all-over-the-lid. “Going Nuts” is a true dark brown that is neither cool nor warm. It is actually pretty unique and I love that it has copper colored glitter reflecting throughout! “Bee Sweet” is a pale pink color that is also matte. I don’t really love pick eyeshadow, so I’m not sure if I’ll reach for this color a lot, however it was very brightening on the skin and was creamy when swatched. The one shadow in the palette that I really didn’t like was, “Honey Brittle,” which is a matte peachy-orange color. It was so hard to get an even swatch of this shade and I literally had to dig with my finger to get any color payoff. I probably swiped this swatch 10 times to get that sheer wash of color that you see in the photo. Ugh, at least there’s only one disappointing color! I absolutely love the next shade, “Bees Knees” because it’s a stunning, shimmery copper color that’s going to look great with any of the shadows in the palette! It’s so beautiful and I can definitely see myself using this color on a daily basis! “Queen Bee” is probably the most metallic color in the palette and I would describe it as a frosty, pearl shade that is very neutral in undertone. I loved this color as a brow bone and inner corner highlight! I was really nervous to try “Honey Buns” because a bright yellow is just a tad bit intimidating! I used this color as a transition shade to blend out my crease and add some dimension to my look and it looked so good! It really warmed up the entire look and gave the look a unique touch! I actually really love this color and I’m excited to find new ways to use it in other makeup looks! Lastly, “Feeling Nutty” is my other absolute favorite color in this palette because it’s super creamy and matte. It’s a very warm-toned, peanut butter color and it is so pretty once applied to the eyes! I can see this being a stand out shade for me and this exceptional shadow helps me overlook that one dud color! Plus, it seriously smells like honey with a touch of peanut butter!

I really think these eyeshadows live up to the quality and standard that proceeds Too Faced and I’m so happy I was able to get my hands on it before it sells out! I would recommend this palette to someone that loves working with warm colors and values richly pigmented, matte eyeshadows. I will say that this palette looked a lot better once it was on my eyes with a primer, so keep that in mind with the arm swatches! Leave me a comment below if you think I should do a post on my current favorite eyeshadow look using this palette! What new products are you excited to try?! Leave me a comment so I can put them to the test! Thank you so much for reading!

Too Faced “Chocolate Chip” Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches!

Lately, I’ve been loving products that give me a natural makeup look on a day-to-day basis. Matte eyeshadows are an easy way to add depth and dimension to your eyes, without being too bold. I’ve tried so many matte eyeshadows from drugstore and high-end brands and let me tell ya; they’re not all created equally. Whenever you find a creamy and evenly pigmented matte shadow, you immediately buy because they are hard to find! Most are chalky and blend out patchy and uneven. That’s why I was thrilled to find the Too Faced “Chocolate Chip” Matte Eyeshadow Palette! It’s super small and compact, making it perfect for travel. However, it’s also packed with 11 different shades so you can be inspired to create multiple eye looks! Another major selling point is that it does indeed smell like chocolate, which is definitely the most delightful scent if you ask me!

Too Faced eyeshadows are always super pigmented, but matte shades aren’t always the easiest to formulate. The ones in this palette are pretty great, for the most part! There are a few shades that are pretty dusty and have fallout when you blend them out, but I think that’s pretty common with soft eyeshadows.

I do have some favorite eyeshadows in the palette that I can see myself using on a daily basis! “White Chocolate” is the best to set your entire eyelid and help the other colors blend out as you layer them on. I love “Creme Brulee” to buff into my crease for a natural transition shade! “Strawberry Bon Bon” is seriously the most pigmented and bright, light pink shade I’ve ever tried! This is gorgeous to wear all over the eyelid and I’m definitely planning on using it on Valentine’s Day! “Gilded Ganache” is a rich, olive-green, matte shade that is super unique! I really love wearing, “Candied Violet” all over my eyelid and noticed that it really makes my brown eye color pop!

I would recommend this palette to anyone that enjoys wearing matte eyeshadows and wants to work with a neutral shade selection! I think it’s super easy and great for everyday use, but also a wonderful addition if you need matte colors to blend out your more dramatic looks! I think it’s reasonably priced at $26 for 11 high-end eyeshadows! Have you tried the Too Faced “White Chocolate Chip” palette? I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m still curious to know if it’s good so let me know if you have it and love it! I feel like more and more brands are releasing matte eyeshadows, so what are your favorite palettes or single shades?! Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading!

Sweet Peach Makeup Look!

If you read my previous post, you know I went peach crazy and ordered every item in the new Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection! Well, rather than only showing the swatches from my review post, I decided to also do a quick, little makeup look using all of the products I purchased! As you can guess, the look is very peachy, but I wanted to create a cohesive look that shows you how to make the pinky-orange tones wearable for day-to-day! Of course, you can totally make it your own! I think this would be gorgeous without eyeliner and brown mascara if you want a more natural, soft effect. You can also add false lashes and darken the outer corners a bit more to give a dramatic effect! Either way, I hope you really enjoy seeing how I put all of these products together for a pretty peach makeup look!

  1. I first primed my eyes using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the shade “Eden.” I love this for canceling out the veins and redness in my eyelids, while also extending the wear of my eyeshadows. Next I applied “White Peach” from the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette all over my eyelid and up to the brow bone. I find that the rest of my shadows blend easier when I set down a neutral shade to take away the tackiness of the primer and provide a smooth canvas for the colors we place on top.
  2. For my transitional shades, I took “Peaches ‘N Cream” on a fluffy brush throughout the entire crease area. Once I had that blended out, I added a bit of “Georgia” to soften the entire look, while giving more dimension.
  3. So the next color I used, “Summer Yum” is an absolute game-changer and definitely my favorite shade in the entire palette. It’s a perfect warm, terracotta, chocolate brown. Ugh, it’s just really something special. So I picked up a more detailed blending brush and focused this color on the outer edges for a wide-eyed effect. This color would also be amazing as an all-over kid shade for an all-matte brown smokey eye! Ah!
  4. I picked up “Bellini” next, which I would describe as a peachy-rose gold shade. This is perfect for highlighting the eyelid and providing the look with more dimension. I used a flat shader brush to press the color in and reduce any fallout from the shimmer. I also added the color “Nectar” into the corners of my eyes to help them look awake and sparkly!
  5. To add further depth to the eyes, I took “Delectable,” which I would describe as a matte, deep plum shade on a small definer brush. I blended this onto my upper lash line and slightly into the crease. Typically, I use a matte black color for this step, but I actually really like how this shade worked with the whole look!
  6. For the final step, I used the Kat Von D liquid liner and applied two coats of Too Faced “Better Than Sex” mascara! After looking at the photos from this pictorial, I really saw how crazy of an impact these steps make! Wow! Of course I did my standard winged eyeliner, but I think it would look equally awesome with just a regular like or no eyeliner at all!

For the rest of my makeup, I used the Sweet Peach Glow palette for my bronzer, highlight and blush topper! I also used the Papa Don’t Peach blush, which I absolutely love! I predict this product becoming my new favorite! For my lips, I used the Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Balm in “Papa Don’t Peach” for a glossy look! I have been wearing this product nonstop and absolutely love the way it feels on my lips, so I’m excited to try the other colors in the range! Let me know if you like this makeup look! I want to know your favorite shades in this palette too! A lot of the colors are out of my comfort zone, but I believe that will continue to inspire me to get more creative with my makeup looks! Thank you so much for reading!

Too Faced “Sweet Peach” Collection Review and Swatches!

I nearly lost it whenever I saw sneak peeks of the new Too Faced “Sweet Peach” Collection on Instagram. Not only was I drawn to the adorable packaging, but I was also intrigued by the promise of the products smelling like fresh peaches! I decided to purchase each item in the collection to honestly test out the products and see if they really live up to their social media hype!

The “Sweet Peach Glow Highlighting Palette” was the item I wanted most! I am obsessed with bronzy, glowy skin so this seemed like the perfect little palette to achieve that look on a day-to-day basis! Once I swatched this palette, I was a little concerned about how sheer the shades appeared. I have a medium-olive skin tone, so I do feel like it’s more suited for lighter-fair skinned gals, but nonetheless it is a very gorgeous color selection. The highlight is a really unique, peachy-golden glow! It almost has a rose-gold effect whenever you apply it to your face. I loved how long lasting this highlight is! It’s definitely more of a glowy, wet-look shimmer, than a chunky glitter shade. The blush color in the palette is a very sheer, peachy-pink color that has a beautiful luminous glow! I really love this color because it looks super fresh and natural once you apply it! It’s the perfect every-day blush and I can see myself using this all the time! The bronzer is really light, but has a great natural undertone. I love that it wasn’t too orangey, but also didn’t look ashy or gray. I feel like this bronzer would be great to help blend out any contour color and add warmth to any makeup look! I will probably use this product on top of my regular bronzer to add a sheen and help blend out any harsh edges from contouring!

I haven’t read a lot of reviews about the “Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss” so I was super curious to try this without any expectations! It is described as a “whipped peach oil with the shine of a glass and the moisture of a lip balm.” I love wearing regular lip gloss, but a lip gloss that feels like a balm sounds like absolute heaven! I have been wearing this product a lot over the past couple weeks and I am so impressed! The pigment is sheer, but that is what I was expecting based on the description! It’s very light weight and moisturizing, so you do feel like you’re wearing a lip treatment, rather than a traditional sticky gloss. I have mine in the shade, “Papa Don’t Peach,” which I would describe as a nude, peach shade with a brown undertone. I have worn this lip gloss alone and over top of lipsticks and find it looks beautiful either way! I can’t wait to try out the other shades!

The single blush in the collection is called, “Papa Don’t Peach” and is actually a reformulated version of one of their vintage blush shades. It is supposed to have a brightening effect, providing a youthful radiance to your cheeks! It is a true peach color that has more of a bronze undertone, than a traditional pink. I love this because it also helps this product look more natural and effortlessly blend into your bronzer! It does have slight gold shimmer throughout, but it blends out as more of a healthy sheen once applied and does not emphasize texture whatsoever. I think this would work really beautifully on many different skin tones, which is a major plus too! I am so excited to use this product in the summer to give my skin a sun kissed look! I also wanted to mention that this blush lasted over 10 hours on my skin, which I was pleasantly surprised about!

The eyeshadow palette was something I actually debated on purchasing. I have never been a huge fan of pink eyeshadows and upon first glance, it does appear to have many peach colors that have a red-pink undertone, rather than an orange (which I would’ve preferred). For the sake of this review, I did decide to order it and I’m definitely not disappointed or regretful! Are there shades I’ll use more than others? Yes. However, I do think I’m going to be incorporating a lot of these color’s into my every day makeup routine so I’m not too worried about it! The pigmentation on these eyeshadows is insane! The matte color’s are so rich and creamy, which is so rare to find in an eyeshadow palette these days! The shimmer shade’s are really evenly pigmented and have hardly any fallout! It’s such a fun bonus that you get to smell fresh peaches whenever you’re blending out your eyeshadow! I still love my Too Faced “Chocolate Bar” palette more because of the shade selection, however the “Sweet Peach” is quickly becoming one I reach for more and more!

After really putting these products to the test, I can truly say this collection is worth the hype. Each product is made of high quality pigments that blend beautifully on the eyes and face. Even the lip gloss stands out for being unique in formulation! I think based on your skin tone and just general preferences for makeup, you can pick and choose which items would work best for you! I am really excited to use these products during the summer months because they’re absolutely perfect for giving you a sun kissed, glowy look! Let me know which items from the Too Faced “Sweet Peach” collection that you are loving by leaving me a comment! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you had a very Happy New Year!

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer Review!

As a concealer junkie, I’m always trying to find the best and brightest product to put under my unsightly dark circles. Just to give you some insight into the exciting world of my under eyes, they are puffy, discolored and have fine lines; attractive! So when I’m researching new concealers, I not only look for one that has the ability to cover, but also brighten and moisturize. After reading the description of the new, “Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer,” I knew I had to have it! Take a look at the main ingredients, “coconut water, alpine rose and hyaluronic acid” are formulated to hydrate, promote youthful elasticity and last for a long time once applied to the skin. It is in the high-end price range at $28, but once you read the many benefits of using this product, it is worth it to receive a skincare treatment and essential makeup item all in one! I think it’s also important to mention that this product is oil-free, so when you’re using it on existing blemishes or if you just have sensitive skin, rest assure that this won’t do any damage!

So as you can see in the first photo, my under-eye area looks puffy and dark. Not a great overall look. You can’t really tell in the photo, but I also have some serious fine lines underneath there too. I’m not sure if it’s just because I do have dry skin or if I’m just rapidly aging only in my eye area; either or. Once I applied the Naturally Radiant Concealer, I could definitely see that the “Light” shade was maybe too brightening, but decided to roll with it any blend out anyways with my Beauty Blender sponge. Within seconds, this product began creasing and settling into my lines. Although initially discouraged, this happens to me A LOT with pretty much every concealer and I do have strategies to make it work. If you’re noticing that even after you’ve blended your concealer, it still is creasing, take your ring finger (it applied the least amount of pressure) and gently tap on the creased areas and it will remove that excess product, without disrupting your existing makeup.

Once I blended this product out, I could tell it was a situation that I needed to set with powder immediately in order to prevent further creasing! I used the NYX HD setting powder in the shade “Banana,” which also additionally brightened up this area! Once set, I thought this concealer looked absolutely beautiful! After a few hours, I was absolutely impressed that my fine lines were still concealed and my under eye area felt super hydrated and soft! This continued on throughout the day as well! I was very excited that the concealer stayed true-to-color and didn’t fade or oxidize darker throughout the wear time.

I am in love with this product after using it for a couple weeks. I love it for natural looks and I love it for full glam makeup. I find it does have a radiance property to the formula, hence the name! This product blends seamlessly into the skin, making it perfect for those “no-makeup-makeup-looks.” I think this product is going to perform well for any skin type, but especially those with drier skin! I know for me personally, it really hydrated all day long and kept this area plump and youthful looking. What new products are you currently loving? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you so much for reading!

Easy Summer Makeup Using The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

I wanted to do a quick look for gals who enjoy bronze-taupe shades for every day makeup! My favorite eyeshadow palette of all time is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette! I find the colors are versatile enough to be daytime and nighttime appropriate and there are enough colors included for both cool and warm toned looks. Not to mention, the quality of the eyeshadows are amazing. They’re buttery, pigmented and easy to blend! The most important part is that these eyeshadows actually smell like cocoa powder! You will honestly love this palette and see that it is worth every penny once you begin creating the beautiful variety of looks that you like!

To begin, I primed my eyes using the Urban Decay Naked Weightless Concealer. I then took the shade “White Chocolate” and applied it all over my eyelid, up to my brown bone to neutralize my skin and help my other eyeshadows blend out easier. I then took “Salted Caramel” with a fluffy blending brush into my crease. I think this warm brown shade can be worn in so many different makeup looks to provide a universally flattering transition, while blending out your lid shades. Next I applied “Milk Chocolate” onto the outside corner of my crease in a V shape. This step will further define your eyes and help blend any darker shades you set down. For my eyelid, I applied “Champagne Truffle” on the inner corner to brighten and widen the look of my eyes. This shade can also work beautifully as a cheekbone highlight if you’re looking to keep the look very cohesive. With a flat shader brush, I took “Marzipan” on my inner third to create an ombré effect to my eye look. Next I placed “Creme Brûlée” on my middle third to give a gold sparkle effect. Lastly, I placed “Hazelnut” on my outer third to darken the corner and give a cat-eye effect to my lids.

I did also give myself a black winged eyeliner because I love the way this defines my lash line and elongates my naturally round eyes. On the lower lash line, I smudged the Stila Stay-All-Day Eyeliner pencil in Lionfish. I also took the shadow color “Hazelnut” and further blended out this area for no harsh lines. Of course I added plenty of mascara for this look because I love the look of full and thick eyelashes! Below is a photo featuring the remaining makeup products I used to create this look!

I think this is super easy and pretty for summertime because it incorporates soft shimmer shades in a warm, bronze color family. It’s not too dark or smokey, but it does define the eyelids in a flattering way. I would recommend this eye look to anyone because I think it’s universally wearable and gorgeous for day or night! I also want to add that although I chose a neutral lip color, this eyeshadow look is simple enough to pair with a red or violet colored lippie too! I want to create more looks using this palette, so let me know what you would like to see next! I’m thinking of an olive-green look with bronzed skin…the possibilities are endless! Thank you so much for reading!

Best Bronzers For Any Budget!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer, Luminous Bronze Light, $50. Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer, Chocolate – medium to deep, $30. Too Faced Beach Bunny Custom-Blend Bronzer, Beach Bunny – bronze/ soft peach/ golden ivory/ golden tan, $30. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer, Bronzer, $14.99. Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer, Medium, $14.99 L’Oreal Glam Bronze Bronzer Summer Collection, Glam Bronze Medium, $14.99.

Bronzers are an essential makeup item during the warmer months. If you’re like me and enjoy looking bronzed on a daily basis, I have some favorite drugstore and high-end bronzers to share with you that I think you will really enjoy! I wanted to break these bronzers up into a few different categories, such as price, color and finish. These are the best formulas in those three different categories in my opinion, so I wanted to share my favorites with you and hopefully help you find a good match that fits your personal preferences!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer, Luminous Bronze Light, $50. Too Faced Beach Bunny Custom-Blend Bronzer, Beach Bunny – bronze/ soft peach/ golden ivory/ golden tan, $30. Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer, Chocolate – medium to deep, $30.

We will begin with bronzers in the high-end category that are available for purchase at Sephora. My ride-or-die favorite is the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. I have been using this product since I was a sophomore in college (aka 2011!) and have never been without it! This is the type of bronzer that goes perfectly with my skin tone no matter the season, so I always like to have it available in my collection. First of all, it smells like chocolate; so that is enough reasoning for you to run out and purchase it immediately. Second of all, it comes in three different shade ranges so you can choose the best match for you, I am in the medium shade known as, “Chocolate.” The formula is creamy and blends seamlessly into the skin. This color is on the cool-toned shade range, which makes it perfect to contour and bronze all at the same time! It is also a matte finish bronzer so if you prefer that look, or have problems with texture on the skin you do not want to emphasize, I think you would really love the smoothing effect of this product. I cannot say enough good things about this bronzer and definitely will keep repurchasing for years to come!

The next high-end bronzer I wanted to mention is also from Too Faced, however it is drastically different than the Chocolate Soleil! The Beach Bunny bronzer is a shimmery, glowing formula of bronzer that has a warm undertone when applied to the skin. It is beautiful for the warm weather when you want your skin to glow and reflect in the light. I would describe this product as having a sophisticated shimmer because it is definitely not glittery by any means. I also love wearing this product as an eye shadow whenever I want to use minimal products on my face. It is a really long-lasting product, as all Too Faced face products seem to be. My favorite way to apply this product is with a big, fluffy brush over the high points of my face for an all-over, artificially sun kissed glow.

Lastly, I had to mention the most luxurious makeup product I own, my Hourglass Ambient Light Bronzer. I honestly cannot believe I paid $50 for a bronzer, but I was so intrigued by the idea of a bronzer being mixed with a luminous swirl of light reflecting powder. I picked up the lightest shade of this formula after reading reviews that the Medium shade looked really orange once applied on the skin. Whenever I wear this product, I am blown away by the finish it gives on my skin. It can be described as a sheer, but buildable formula that naturally bronzes your appearance. Since I do have an olive skin tone, this is more of an all-over face product for me. I use it when I want to give my entire complexion a glowing, bronzed look! This product is not shimmery or sparkly, it truly just has a glow to the formula that is so subtle, people will really think you have this gorgeous, healthy skin naturally! I am always receiving compliments whenever I wear this bronzer!

L’Oreal Glam Bronze Bronzer Summer Collection, Glam Bronze Medium, $14.99. Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer, Medium, $14.99 Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer, Bronzer, $14.99.

Of course, I had to mention my favorite bronzers that can be found at your local drugstore! There are so many good inexpensive bronzers out there, but I narrowed it down to my current favorite three. One of my very first makeup products that I ever bought was the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster. When I first started wearing this product in high school, I didn’t realize how great it was without any prior product knowledge to compare it to. Now that I have tried dozens of bronzers in every price range, I can confidently say this is one of the best. It is a very terracotta, warm-toned bronze shade with slight gold shimmer. It is extremely bendable and will look perfect with any makeup look. I love wearing this bronzer throughout the summer because it doesn’t fade regardless of the hot, humid weather and has the perfect amount of subtle shimmer to give the skin a pretty, sun kissed effect.

The new Butter Bronzer, also from Physicians Formula, is a gorgeous light bronze, matte shade that truly smells like a tropical vacation. I honestly can’t get over how good this product smells, it reminds me of a pina colada! Even if you don’t purchase this product, you should seriously smell it whenever you see it out in stores. The formula is very smooth and blends so beautifully into the skin. It is a satin-matte finish, which is extremely natural looking. I have my Butter Bronzer in the darkest shade called, “Bronzer” and even that is very light on my skin tone, so this is definitely suited for fair-light gals! They also have a shade even lighter than this, so check it out if you have a hard time finding a bronzer that doesn’t look too harsh! I’m so happy I picked this product up because it’s a perfect neutral brown shade, which are hard to find at the drugstore! I think the packaging is so beautiful and again, I cannot stress enough just how good this bronzer smells!

I did a full blog post on this L’Oreal Glam Bronze bronzer and wanted to update you on just how much I’m loving it! I use this product on a daily basis because it’s very wearable and easy to blend. I find that this is a product that takes little-to-no effort to blend and instantly gives me that warm bronze shade that looks like I just got out of the sun! I still love this formula and find it to be very long lasting. It is a satin-matte bronzer because it does have slight shimmer in it, but once blended on the skin, it resembles the look of a matte bronze. I think the packaging is great because the pan size is huge; making it easy to swirl your bronzer brush around and pick up product evenly. I love using this bronzer with a warm toned blush and gold highlight because I feel so summery and glowy!

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post! Hopefully you found a bronzer to pick up next time you’re shopping! Let me know your favorite bronzers because I enjoy testing them out and adding to my collection!

My Favorite Blushes!

I have a weakness for blush. As you’ll soon find out, my favorite shade to wear is a very warm toned, peachy-pink. I find these are very complimentary to my olive skin tone and usually match the bronzey makeup looks I do on a regular basis. In my opinion, blush brightens my overall look and provides a natural flush of color to my cheeks that I otherwise do not have. I don’t go a day without it because I feel that it marries my bronzer and highlight together, filling in any gaps of bare skin. Even my “no-makeup” makeup looks incorporate blush application. I think it’s one of the easiest ways to look more awake too! By providing this flush of color, you will liven your complexion and create a youthful glow.

I’ve tried out so many blushes, ranging from inexpensive to very high end. I really think I’ve pinpointed my favorite formulas based on smoothness of application, pigmentation and longevity. By far, the best blushes I’ve tried and own are the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes. These babies are in a league of their own! I’ve never found a blush that’s anywhere close to as good as these are. They apply softly on the cheeks and the color does not fade throughout the day! Tarte advertises that they’re a “12-hour wear” formula, but these have definitely lasted on my skin for much longer! It’s really rare that every blush shade in a brands collection is equally as amazing and these truly are! I have no doubt that any color you choose will be your new favorite! I started wearing these blushes five years ago and they are still the ones I keep repurchasing to this day! Here are my absolute favorite shades that I would categorize as must-haves!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush, $28. Top Row Shades: “Peaceful” and “Natural Beauty” Bottom Row Shades: “Tipsy” and “Glisten”

The next blushes that I love are from Too Faced! The Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blushes are really nice! Very pigmented and apply super evenly on the skin. I personally think the formula is more on the sheer side, which is nice if you prefer to build up color in a natural way. I definitely stand behind the claim that these last for 16 hours! I do think they start to fade after that point, unlike the Tarte blushes! Also I’m obsessed with the packaging of these blushes because they remind me of Polly Pocket, so cute! The next blush I have from Too Faced is their Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush! These boxed blushes are also in adorable packaging that holds the beautiful, baked, ombré blush inside. I think this color is so pretty when I swirl my brush to pick up all three colors at once. The formula has fine gold shimmer throughout and shows up on the cheeks as a subtle glow that’s perfect for summer! Although Too Faced doesn’t advertise this as a long-lasting blush, this particular color held up for an entire work day on my skin and did not lose any vibrancy over time. I highly recommend you check out the other shades in the range because they have something for every skin tone!

Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush, $26. In the shade: “I Will Always Love You.” Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush, $30. In the shade: “Sparkling Bellini.”

Lastly I wanted to include the Becca Afterglow Palette, which can be found exclusively at Ulta. I found this palette was a great way to try some of Becca’s Mineral Blushes as well as their Shimmering Skin Perfectors! I already owned the white-gold highlight in the palette called “Moonstone” and use it to achieve an intense icy glow on the tops of my cheekbones. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Rose Gold” and “Topaz” are more of a blush topper for me personally! I apply these on top of the blush I’m wearing to give me an all-over illuminated glow. The Mineral Blush in “Wild Honey” and the Mineral Blush in “Flowerchild” are absolutely stunning! Both are extremely different in color, but equally as gorgeous. My personal favorite is “Wild Honey” because it’s unique to any other shade of blush own and is universal enough to match any makeup look! The Becca Mineral Blushes in this palette sadly only last about 6-8 hours on me before I feel like I need to reapply, but with that said, the smooth texture and pigmentation on these products outweigh any cons. I’m so excited to try more of these colors and put them to the test during the Spring and Summer months!

Becca Afterglow Palette, $39.50. The blushes and highlight in the palette are in the shades: Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Moonstone.” Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Rose Gold.” Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Topaz.” Mineral Blush in “Wild Honey.” Mineral Blush in “Flowerchild.”

I hope I gave you some good suggestions on different brands of blushes to try! I know a lot of the shades are similar, but these peachy-pink tones are my favorite to wear! Let me know your favorite blushes because I’m always willing to step out of my comfort zone and try new ones! Thanks for reading!
