Too Faced “Peanut Butter and Honey” Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the new Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Palette and I was able to pick one up before it officially releases on March 1st! I wanted to review and swatch it for you guys to see if it truly lives up to all the hype it’s gotten on social media! If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know some of my favorite and most used eyeshadow palettes are by Too Faced! The Peanut Butter and Jelly palette is still a product that I reach for on a weekly basis! I had very high standards when trying this one because each previous palette has always included rich, creamy eyeshadows that were evenly pigmented. Plus, I was super excited to smell this one in particular since I knew the scent was going to be honey, which is one of my absolute favorites!

Just looking at the shades in this palette, I can tell it’ll be something I reach for all the time since it’s all warm, neutral shades. The majority of this palette is matte, with only a few shades being shimmery! I think there are some fun, unique shades in there, which help me feel inspired to step out of my comfort zone (ex. “Honey Buns,” the bright yellow) however, there are enough “safe” colors for me to create a wearable, every day makeup look!

Once I started swatching these shadows, I did notice some inconsistency in the formula. Some of the shades are really buttery and pigmented, others are more dry feeling and require effort to build up the color. We will start the review of each individual shade with, “Creamed Honey,” which I would describe as a pearly, cream shade that is more sheer in pigmentation. I think this is a really easy all-over-the-lid color that you can wear on a daily basis. I will say that once I tried this shade on my eyelid, with a primer underneath, it showed up a lot brighter and allowed the sparkles to come through in a more noticeable way. “Peanut Butter” is one of my most favorite shades in the entire palette because it’s a matter, super warm, rich cocoa brown that is perfect for a transition shade in the crease or blown out all-over-the-lid. “Going Nuts” is a true dark brown that is neither cool nor warm. It is actually pretty unique and I love that it has copper colored glitter reflecting throughout! “Bee Sweet” is a pale pink color that is also matte. I don’t really love pick eyeshadow, so I’m not sure if I’ll reach for this color a lot, however it was very brightening on the skin and was creamy when swatched. The one shadow in the palette that I really didn’t like was, “Honey Brittle,” which is a matte peachy-orange color. It was so hard to get an even swatch of this shade and I literally had to dig with my finger to get any color payoff. I probably swiped this swatch 10 times to get that sheer wash of color that you see in the photo. Ugh, at least there’s only one disappointing color! I absolutely love the next shade, “Bees Knees” because it’s a stunning, shimmery copper color that’s going to look great with any of the shadows in the palette! It’s so beautiful and I can definitely see myself using this color on a daily basis! “Queen Bee” is probably the most metallic color in the palette and I would describe it as a frosty, pearl shade that is very neutral in undertone. I loved this color as a brow bone and inner corner highlight! I was really nervous to try “Honey Buns” because a bright yellow is just a tad bit intimidating! I used this color as a transition shade to blend out my crease and add some dimension to my look and it looked so good! It really warmed up the entire look and gave the look a unique touch! I actually really love this color and I’m excited to find new ways to use it in other makeup looks! Lastly, “Feeling Nutty” is my other absolute favorite color in this palette because it’s super creamy and matte. It’s a very warm-toned, peanut butter color and it is so pretty once applied to the eyes! I can see this being a stand out shade for me and this exceptional shadow helps me overlook that one dud color! Plus, it seriously smells like honey with a touch of peanut butter!

I really think these eyeshadows live up to the quality and standard that proceeds Too Faced and I’m so happy I was able to get my hands on it before it sells out! I would recommend this palette to someone that loves working with warm colors and values richly pigmented, matte eyeshadows. I will say that this palette looked a lot better once it was on my eyes with a primer, so keep that in mind with the arm swatches! Leave me a comment below if you think I should do a post on my current favorite eyeshadow look using this palette! What new products are you excited to try?! Leave me a comment so I can put them to the test! Thank you so much for reading!
