Sweet Peach Makeup Look!

If you read my previous post, you know I went peach crazy and ordered every item in the new Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection! Well, rather than only showing the swatches from my review post, I decided to also do a quick, little makeup look using all of the products I purchased! As you can guess, the look is very peachy, but I wanted to create a cohesive look that shows you how to make the pinky-orange tones wearable for day-to-day! Of course, you can totally make it your own! I think this would be gorgeous without eyeliner and brown mascara if you want a more natural, soft effect. You can also add false lashes and darken the outer corners a bit more to give a dramatic effect! Either way, I hope you really enjoy seeing how I put all of these products together for a pretty peach makeup look!

  1. I first primed my eyes using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the shade “Eden.” I love this for canceling out the veins and redness in my eyelids, while also extending the wear of my eyeshadows. Next I applied “White Peach” from the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette all over my eyelid and up to the brow bone. I find that the rest of my shadows blend easier when I set down a neutral shade to take away the tackiness of the primer and provide a smooth canvas for the colors we place on top.
  2. For my transitional shades, I took “Peaches ‘N Cream” on a fluffy brush throughout the entire crease area. Once I had that blended out, I added a bit of “Georgia” to soften the entire look, while giving more dimension.
  3. So the next color I used, “Summer Yum” is an absolute game-changer and definitely my favorite shade in the entire palette. It’s a perfect warm, terracotta, chocolate brown. Ugh, it’s just really something special. So I picked up a more detailed blending brush and focused this color on the outer edges for a wide-eyed effect. This color would also be amazing as an all-over kid shade for an all-matte brown smokey eye! Ah!
  4. I picked up “Bellini” next, which I would describe as a peachy-rose gold shade. This is perfect for highlighting the eyelid and providing the look with more dimension. I used a flat shader brush to press the color in and reduce any fallout from the shimmer. I also added the color “Nectar” into the corners of my eyes to help them look awake and sparkly!
  5. To add further depth to the eyes, I took “Delectable,” which I would describe as a matte, deep plum shade on a small definer brush. I blended this onto my upper lash line and slightly into the crease. Typically, I use a matte black color for this step, but I actually really like how this shade worked with the whole look!
  6. For the final step, I used the Kat Von D liquid liner and applied two coats of Too Faced “Better Than Sex” mascara! After looking at the photos from this pictorial, I really saw how crazy of an impact these steps make! Wow! Of course I did my standard winged eyeliner, but I think it would look equally awesome with just a regular like or no eyeliner at all!

For the rest of my makeup, I used the Sweet Peach Glow palette for my bronzer, highlight and blush topper! I also used the Papa Don’t Peach blush, which I absolutely love! I predict this product becoming my new favorite! For my lips, I used the Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Balm in “Papa Don’t Peach” for a glossy look! I have been wearing this product nonstop and absolutely love the way it feels on my lips, so I’m excited to try the other colors in the range! Let me know if you like this makeup look! I want to know your favorite shades in this palette too! A lot of the colors are out of my comfort zone, but I believe that will continue to inspire me to get more creative with my makeup looks! Thank you so much for reading!

Too Faced “Sweet Peach” Collection Review and Swatches!

I nearly lost it whenever I saw sneak peeks of the new Too Faced “Sweet Peach” Collection on Instagram. Not only was I drawn to the adorable packaging, but I was also intrigued by the promise of the products smelling like fresh peaches! I decided to purchase each item in the collection to honestly test out the products and see if they really live up to their social media hype!

The “Sweet Peach Glow Highlighting Palette” was the item I wanted most! I am obsessed with bronzy, glowy skin so this seemed like the perfect little palette to achieve that look on a day-to-day basis! Once I swatched this palette, I was a little concerned about how sheer the shades appeared. I have a medium-olive skin tone, so I do feel like it’s more suited for lighter-fair skinned gals, but nonetheless it is a very gorgeous color selection. The highlight is a really unique, peachy-golden glow! It almost has a rose-gold effect whenever you apply it to your face. I loved how long lasting this highlight is! It’s definitely more of a glowy, wet-look shimmer, than a chunky glitter shade. The blush color in the palette is a very sheer, peachy-pink color that has a beautiful luminous glow! I really love this color because it looks super fresh and natural once you apply it! It’s the perfect every-day blush and I can see myself using this all the time! The bronzer is really light, but has a great natural undertone. I love that it wasn’t too orangey, but also didn’t look ashy or gray. I feel like this bronzer would be great to help blend out any contour color and add warmth to any makeup look! I will probably use this product on top of my regular bronzer to add a sheen and help blend out any harsh edges from contouring!

I haven’t read a lot of reviews about the “Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss” so I was super curious to try this without any expectations! It is described as a “whipped peach oil with the shine of a glass and the moisture of a lip balm.” I love wearing regular lip gloss, but a lip gloss that feels like a balm sounds like absolute heaven! I have been wearing this product a lot over the past couple weeks and I am so impressed! The pigment is sheer, but that is what I was expecting based on the description! It’s very light weight and moisturizing, so you do feel like you’re wearing a lip treatment, rather than a traditional sticky gloss. I have mine in the shade, “Papa Don’t Peach,” which I would describe as a nude, peach shade with a brown undertone. I have worn this lip gloss alone and over top of lipsticks and find it looks beautiful either way! I can’t wait to try out the other shades!

The single blush in the collection is called, “Papa Don’t Peach” and is actually a reformulated version of one of their vintage blush shades. It is supposed to have a brightening effect, providing a youthful radiance to your cheeks! It is a true peach color that has more of a bronze undertone, than a traditional pink. I love this because it also helps this product look more natural and effortlessly blend into your bronzer! It does have slight gold shimmer throughout, but it blends out as more of a healthy sheen once applied and does not emphasize texture whatsoever. I think this would work really beautifully on many different skin tones, which is a major plus too! I am so excited to use this product in the summer to give my skin a sun kissed look! I also wanted to mention that this blush lasted over 10 hours on my skin, which I was pleasantly surprised about!

The eyeshadow palette was something I actually debated on purchasing. I have never been a huge fan of pink eyeshadows and upon first glance, it does appear to have many peach colors that have a red-pink undertone, rather than an orange (which I would’ve preferred). For the sake of this review, I did decide to order it and I’m definitely not disappointed or regretful! Are there shades I’ll use more than others? Yes. However, I do think I’m going to be incorporating a lot of these color’s into my every day makeup routine so I’m not too worried about it! The pigmentation on these eyeshadows is insane! The matte color’s are so rich and creamy, which is so rare to find in an eyeshadow palette these days! The shimmer shade’s are really evenly pigmented and have hardly any fallout! It’s such a fun bonus that you get to smell fresh peaches whenever you’re blending out your eyeshadow! I still love my Too Faced “Chocolate Bar” palette more because of the shade selection, however the “Sweet Peach” is quickly becoming one I reach for more and more!

After really putting these products to the test, I can truly say this collection is worth the hype. Each product is made of high quality pigments that blend beautifully on the eyes and face. Even the lip gloss stands out for being unique in formulation! I think based on your skin tone and just general preferences for makeup, you can pick and choose which items would work best for you! I am really excited to use these products during the summer months because they’re absolutely perfect for giving you a sun kissed, glowy look! Let me know which items from the Too Faced “Sweet Peach” collection that you are loving by leaving me a comment! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you had a very Happy New Year!

Holiday Gift Guide for Gals!

I wanted to share a gift guide for anyone that stresses and struggles with finding the perfect gift for their sister, daughter, best friend, co-worker, etc! There’s always so much pressure to find the greatest possible present, so hopefully this helps alleviate a slight amount of holiday-induced nervousness! I wanted to find gifts in different price ranges and categories so you can find the exact present that whoever you’re shopping for would love and most importantly use!

Lululemon Vinyasa Scarf, $48.

I cannot sing enough praises for this item! This scarf is a little pricey at 50 bucks, however I think it’s totally worth it since you can wear it in so many different ways! It’s so warm and soft, the material is also slightly stretchy so it will never feel tight and suffocating, as some scarfs tend to be! It also has a row of buttons, that you can easily snap on and off to create the different looks. If you unbutton the entire row, you can easily make it an infinity scarf! Button half the snaps for a handkerchief scarf look. You can also create a blanket, cardigan, shawl, and hood! I highly suggest checking out this YouTube video on the many ways to style the Vinyasa scarf! This would be the perfect present for an outdoors lover or someone that loves working out!

Initial necklace, $60.

I think this is a really great gift for someone that has a classic style and enjoys more minimalistic jewelry on a day-to-day basis. I have had this “A” necklace for years and still wear it almost every single day. It goes with every outfit and is always understated, but beautiful. I’ve seen different variations of this necklace, but the one that I own is from South Moon Under. It’s called the, “Nashelle A Initial Disc Necklace Charm” and then I also have the accompanying chain. I know Kate Spade makes a similar style as well!

BaubleBar Earrings, $25.

If you are shopping for someone that loves glitzy, statement jewelry, but you don’t want to spend a whole lot…then BaubleBar will become your new BFF! They make such sturdy, high quality pieces that are super affordable! Usually they have some sort of 15% off promotion running as well, so I always recommend shopping these items whenever you can get an extra discount! I love their statement earrings for a special occasion.

Sephora Collection, “Breakups to Makeups” Makeup Bag, $26.

Not all makeup bags are created equally! This one in particular is so well made and designed, that I can fit all of my daily makeup items in it and have it lay flat in my purse! The inside has a durable lining that you can easily wipe down if a lipstick spontaneously decides to break free. Plus, the cute and catchy slogans that are on each makeup bag will make the gift receiver chuckle! It’s a win, win and not outrageously expensive for such a high quality travel item!

Kate Spade Phone Case, $40.

Any phone case by any brand will do the trick, I just wanted to show off my new, cute leopard print one from Kate Spade! If you know the model of their phone, then you can totally pick out an adorable phone case for them based on their personality! Caseify and Sonix makes really unique and cute patterns that they will love! You can also pick up a portable charger or extra long charging cord if you know this person is a techie on the go!

Notebook and Coffee Mug, $10.

I wanted to include some ideas that would work great as stocking stuffers too! I think giving a notebook is such an easy gift because who honestly couldn’t use some extra paper?! I love making lists and just writing ideas out, so I always keep an eye out for cute notebooks whenever I’m shopping at HomeGoods or Target. I think pairing this notebook with a coffee mug is a nice idea because it’s an extra little gift that maybe they’ll use while they’re drinking coffee and jotting down a to-do list in the morning, or sipping tea and journaling at night! You get where I’m going with this! This coffee mug is from Target and only $5!

STOCKING STUFFERS

Fuzzy socks, $3-$5.

I mean they’re fuzzy socks, do you need more of an explanation?! They’re the perfect gift for anyone! Regardless of age or interest, I think we can all agree that the enjoyment of fuzzy socks can bring all women together in love and happiness. I picked up the two pairs in the photo from Nordstrom, but literally every store sells these so no worries in finding a suitable pair!

Pop Figure, $12.

These are cute, little versions of popular tv and movie characters that can be displayed on a desk or in someone’s room! I would get this for someone that’s a major fan of a particular series! I love Friends, so of course I had to get a Rachel! How cute is that Central Perk apron and coffee cup though?! You can find these in bookstores and on Amazon!

OPI Infinite Shine Nail Polish, $12.

By far the best nail polishes ever! I will probably do an entire blog post reviewing these because they’re that amazing! They sell all of the classic OPI shades in this formula and also have limited edition colors as well! The one pictured is in the color, “Bubble Bath,” which is an awesome go-to nude, pink shade that I can see anyone loving!

It’s Skin, “Cookie & Body Ice Cream,” $10.

For only 10 bucks, you can give someone the wonderful gift of smelling like cookie dough after they apply this creamy lotion! It not only looks like ice cream (sucker for cute packaging) but it’s also a great formula! Very lightweight and not greasy at all! The perfect little stocking stuffer for anyone!

I hope this gift guide gave you some great ideas on what to get your mom, sis, daughter, BFF, anyone! Don’t let this holiday season be full of stress and worry, remember it’s not about the presents! I try to always give gifts that someone would truly use and also never buy for themselves! Comment your present recommendations below! Thank you for reading and Merry Christmas!

November Favorites!

November has been a swell month! Full of makeup discoveries that are becoming holy grail level! I love sharing my monthly favorites because I hope you’re able to get a solid, trustworthy review and decide whether to buy or keep in your cart for later! 🙂 I included makeup, hair and a nail polish fav, so I hope you enjoy the variety this month!

dpHUE Cool Blonde Shampoo, $24.

Ever since I began balayage-ing my hair, I’ve noticed the lighter I go, the brassier my hair looks. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan so the best way to combat the unwanted orange tones is a violet, toning shampoo to cool it down! The main problem with a lot of these products are that they can overly dry out your ends, making it super brittle! I read a lot of great reviews about this particular shampoo being super effective at toning down brassy tones for brunettes and blondes; and I must say, it really works! I wash my hair with this once a week to keep my lightened hair a neutral blonde color. Once I’ve evenly distributed it throughout, I make sure to leave it in for about 5 minutes to make sure it really does its job! I do find that when I rinse it all out, it’s pretty drying and my hair feels slightly stripped, so afterwards I’m always sure to follow up with a hair mask and I typically keep that on for about 5 minutes too!

Wet Brush, $12.

To continue with the hair favorites category, I’ve been obsessed with the Wet Brush! I picked up the “Original” one because I have long hair, but it’s fine in texture. The main problem I face is that when I get out of the shower, my hair is super tangled and knotted regardless of the amount of conditioner I use. Before this brush, I would wince each time I had to comb out my wet hair, but now all the tangles disappear with zero pain! This thing has changed my hair’s life and I attribute my decrease in hair loss to this product as well! I always had an obscene amount of hair in my brushes (disgusting, I know) and now there’s hardly any in this brush! It works, it really works! Definitely try this out if you have been on the hunt for a new hairbrush!

Laura Geller, Spackle Treatment Even-Tone Makeup Primer, $32.

I tried out a bunch of Laura Geller products this month and I’ve been loving all of them so much! Especially this makeup primer! I’ve always heard that her signature “Spackle” is loved by many! I wanted to try it because typically, I just wear a primer and powder foundation on a daily basis instead of a liquid foundation! This product is slightly tinted, but has the most beautiful luminescent glow. I’m so surprised that beauty bloggers and YouTuber’s don’t talk about this product more often! It looks gorgeous underneath any makeup and provides such a beautiful lit-from-within look to your skin, even if you don’t have time to put on makeup, you can slap some of this stuff on and look refreshed and glowy! Laura Geller has multiple types of “Spackle” so you are bound to find one that will address your personal skin needs! I love this Even-Tone one because it instantly neutralizes redness and fills in unsightly pores!

Too Faced, Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder, $30.

For the days when I do wear foundation, I’ve been using the Too Faced Primed and Poreless powder to set my entire face. I love that this product gives a fresh, airbrushed appearance to my skin and never looks cakey! I’ve also realized that it does not cause flashback in photography, which tends to always happen with other translucent powders! It’s also a very silky formula, making it perfect for my dry winter skin! Plus, I mean how cute is this packaging?! I love having a little pink compact on my makeup vanity!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow, “Lounge”, $19.

I’m a huge fan of duo chrome eyeshadows because they can look like two different colors based on the light shifting. Whenever I need an all-over eyeshadow color for a quick, night-out I look, this one is my go-to! Urban Decay eyeshadows are some of my favorite because they last for a long time and they’re so evenly pigmented, making their application error-proof! I love using this shade with a light, warm brown in the crease and a deep burgundy shade on the outer corner.

Benefit Cosmetics, Roller Lash Super Curling and Lifting Mascara, $24.

I have talked about the Benefit Roller Lash mascara before because it’s just that amazing! I’ve rediscovered my love for it recently and I must say, if your eyelashes have trouble curling and staying curled, then you’ve gotta try this stuff! The formula is so good and it really works! I’ve been applying my Lancome eye primer underneath and I’m always getting asked if I have eyelash extensions so that combo seems to work great! Also I’m loving that it never flakes or transfers onto my eyelids or lower lash line like other mascaras do!

Deborah Lippmann, Glitter Nail Color, “Happy Birthday”, $20.

I’ve been doing my own manicures recently and with the holidays approaching, it’s impossible to resist glitter. The “Happy Birthday” glitter polish by Deborah Lippmann is something special! I love that each shape of glitter is different and there’s lots of different colored sparkles, making it look like actual confetti on your nails! This polish is so fun and different than anything else I’ve ever seen, so I would highly recommend!

Yves Saint Laurent, “Black Opium”, $90.

I wanted to mention the YSL “Black Opium” perfume because it’s seriously one of my favorites and something I always get compliments on when wearing! I would describe it as creamy vanilla, sweet scent that is perfect for day or night! It’s also very long lasting and doesn’t fade for at least 8 hours, which is pretty impressive! Plus the bottle is super luxurious and beautiful, so I give the packaging an A+!

Thank you for taking the time to read about all the products I’ve been loving during the month of November! Like always, please leave me a comment letting me know the products you’ve had on repeat all month long! I would love to know and try them out!

October Beauty Favorites!

Fall favorites are the best favorites! During the month of October, I have been in love with warm bronze tones. I’ve been wearing my makeup pretty much the same for every occasion, changing up my lip color to suit day or night. I’ve been focusing on flawless skin with bronze and copper eyeshadow shades and a glowy, warm-toned blush. I always try to include high-end and affordable options because on a daily basis, I’m typically wearing a combination of both! I also usually mention fashion favorites in these posts, but I’m actually going to do a separate blog on that because I have a lot for the month of October and didn’t want to make this one too lengthy! I hope you enjoy reading about the beauty products I’ve been loving this month and please let me know if we have any favorites in common, or what new products you think I should try out!

Nars Dual-Intensity, “Himalia”

These eyeshadows are pricey, but they’re absolutely gorgeous! They are pigmented on their own, but can also be used with a wet brush for an intense, foiled effect. The shade “Himalia” is a neutral, bronzey-taupe color that has champagne sparkles throughout it. Once applied to the lid, it has a unique violet undertone, which makes it especially beautiful! This is an easy color to wear all over your lid and blend into the crease for a quick makeup look that appears to have taken a lot of effort! Another reason I love this particular eyeshadow is because it’s so long lasting and it will not fade throughout the day! I really want to try other colors, but at $29 each…I’m pacing myself!

M.A.C Glitter Pigment, “Reflects Bronze”

I have a few of these miniature M.A.C pigments and I never seem to make a dent in them! I love the shade “Reflects Bronze” because it’s very sparkly, but it’s also somewhat wearable since it’s a gold shade that seems to compliment any look! I find myself loving this on natural eye looks, just as much as I love it with a dramatic smokey eye! I find that the copper glitter in this pigment compliment my brown eye color too! Since this is a loose glitter, I recommend using a mixing medium of some kind to make it easy to apply and decrease the amount of fallout. My favorites are M.A.C Fix Plus and Too Faced glitter glue!

Benefit Ka-Brow! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color, “03 Medium”

This is my new favorite brow product ever! I’ve been using this every single day and I love it so much! It is a very natural color, which sometimes is harder to find than one would think! A lot of brunette brow products are too ashy or too red-toned, but this one is the perfect, as-natural-as-you-can-get-when-filling-in-your-entire-brow color! It will not fade or transfer, but comes off pretty easily with makeup remover or warm, soapy water! I feel like this product has decreased the amount of eyebrow hair loss too…which might sound crazy, but I’m pretty sure using a pencil for years has damaged the natural hairs in my brows. Another pro to this product is the convenient, travel friendly packaging! There is a perfectly sized, angled brush in the lid of the product, what a bonus!

Tarteist Clay Paint Liner, “Bronze”

If you’re looking for a softer alternative to classic black eyeliner, then you need to try out this gorgeous brown shade from Tarte! I love using gel eyeliner on my upper lash line, since I usually wing it out on the daily. This one lasts so long and will not budge after you apply it! The shade “Bronze” is a chocolate brown color with a slight shimmer, making it subtle, with a fun twist!

ColourPop Lippie Stix, “Oh Snap”

I can’t get enough of these ColourPop Lippie Stix and at only $5 each, you can afford to get every color you love! The shade “Oh Snap” is that super, on-trend, mauve color that everyone is wearing! This color isn’t too off from my natural lip shade, making it a really easy product to just apply without being too precise! These Lippie Stix are super creamy and pigmented, but also very long lasting, which sounds like the perfect formula to me!

ColourPop Super Shock Cheek, “Avalon”

Can’t stop and won’t stop raving about ColourPop! If you want to expand your makeup collection on a budget, then you need to go online right now and check out their wide range of products! This bronze, rose gold, highlight color is perfect to use as a blush topper if you’re wanting to give your skin an extra pop of shimmer during the colder months! You can also use this on your eyes to achieve a glossy shadow look, which is super on trend at the moment! I’ve been enjoying this particular shade on and off the last few months, but I cannot put it down during October!

Concealers Worth Your Money, Honey!

Most gals wear concealer, but with so many different brands and formulas on the market, it’s hard to know which ones are worth it! I’m sharing my favorite ones that are tried and true! Each of these concealers are ones I’ve either repurchased or will repurchase!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

I feel like this concealer is great for any skin type, mature or young, pink or yellow-undertone; literally everyone. Urban Decay’s Naked Skin concealer is by far the most lightweight formula I’ve tried. It is extremely opaque, so you can trust it will cover the darkest of under eye circles. Since it is such a lightweight and thin formula, it can be very buildable, without looking cakey, which is always concealer goals. My favorite way to apply this product is with a Beauty Blender because it buffs it into the skin beautifully, leaving behind a luminous, natural finish that luckily doesn’t settle into my fine lines! I recommend this concealer to everyone because it seems to work amazing on every single person that uses it, regardless of their skin type and makeup preferences! I have repurchased this concealer three times and I will definitely continue buying since it’s such a staple in my every day makeup routine!

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer

If you love full-coverage and long-lasting concealers, then look no further! The brand new Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape concealer is EVERYTHING! I rarely come across formulas that are longwearing, completely opaque in coverage and also hydrating. Tarte released so many different shades for all different skin tones, which is amazing to see on the market! I always go a couple shades lighter with my concealer to provide a brightening effect and I love the shade “Light Neutral” for my medium-olive skin tone. I really think the best part about this concealer is the long lasting capabilities! It will not settle into any fine lines underneath your eyes and it doesn’t budge all day long! The applicator is really large, which helps whenever you’re highlighting with concealer in the “V’ shape underneath each eye. This is another concealer I confidently recommend to people of every skin type and undertone because it just works so well!

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer

I have a full first impression/review on this product here, but this is another one of my all-time favorite concealers. If you have dry skin, I think you would absolutely love this product. It is a very creamy, radiant formula that hydrates the under-eye area. It isn’t full-coverage, but it is certainly buildable. If you check out the ingredients, this concealer is made with hyaluronic acid, which is amazing for tightening fine lines without drying your skin out. Also a lot of Too Faced products have coconut water, which I’ve found to be an amazing ingredient for hydrating my sensitive, dry skin.

Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer

I wanted to mention this concealer because it’s only $14, but has a very high-end, luxurious formula! It’s very creamy and buildable in coverage. I would agree with its description of a gel-serum formula, which really helps with the lightweight feeling! The only problem I have with this concealer is that it will settle into my fine lines if I don’t immediately set it. Other than that, I find myself going back to this product all the time! I love the fact there are SO many shades in the range too! Anyone can find their perfect concealer shade and that makes me very happy! I use the shade “Custard” and find that it has a perfect, subtle, yellow undertone for my skin.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

If you want full coverage, with a matte finish and just overall flawless looking under eyes, then you need to get this concealer as soon as possible! The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is definitely a permanent member in my holy grail makeup collection! I have used this product for the last 5 years and I think I will always have it in my makeup bag! It’s a very lightweight formula, but it’s super full coverage and will hide the darkest of circles! This one also works great on blemishes too! It will not move, fade or transfer throughout the day, so you can rest assured it will last. I wear the shade NC25 and it works amazing to highlight my skin in a subtle way. If you have tried this product and feel like it looks too cakey, I would highly recommend blending it out with a damp Beauty Blender because that really changes the look and feel of it! It’ll be a bit more hydrating too, which always helps if you have dry skin, like me!

I really hope that this post helped you decide with high-end concealer would work best for you! I know these are pricy compared to drugstore, but if you’re someone like me with stubborn dark circles, then you know the struggle of finding a good product that really works! In my opinion, all of these are worth their price tag and really work as well as they claim to! Let me know your favorites in the comments below! Concealers are one of my favorite makeup items to try out and put to the test, so I’m always looking for recommendations to review! Thank you for reading!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in “Ultimate Glow”

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, “Ultimate Glow” $45.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand known for their amazing eyebrow products, but recently they have gotten a lot of hype for their gorgeous “Glow Kits.” These sets typical feature 4 highlight shades that are guaranteed to give your lit-from-within shine. One of the reasons I have loved the Anastasia highlight formula so much is because it is smooth and doesn’t have a chunky glitter formula like a lot of other highlights on the market tend to have. I was very excited whenever I saw this limited edition palette come out because it had all warm gold shades which are my absolute favorite to wear! Some of the colors are a little dark for my skin tone, but I figured this would be amazing for medium to dark skin tones, which is great to see makeup brands considering! Now let’s get onto the swatches; the fun part!

The first color in the kit is, “Snow” and I would describe this as a bright-white shade that has cool-toned, silver reflects. Out of all the colors in the kit, this one is by far the most glittery. It is a bit stark white, so on my skin tone it is too bright and light to be subtle, but I think some fair-skinned gals will love this color to highlight with! I plan on either mixing this color with other darker shades to make it more wearable and also using it as a brightening, inner-corner highlight.

Next is “White Sand,” which is my absolute favorite color in the whole kit! It reminds me a lot of champagne-pop and that is my all-time favorite highlight! This is a warm, peachy, champagne color with a lot of gold shimmer throughout. I think a variety of skin tones will find this flattering. This color only needed one swatch to show up evenly pigmented, which did alert me to some inconsistency in the formula for this particular Glow Kit.

“Golden Dawn” is a true yellow-gold shade. When I was looking at this palette online, I thought this color was going to be one of my most used in the kit, however once applied to the tops of my cheeks, I didn’t find the strong yellow undertone very flattering. I will most likely just use this shade as an eyeshadow because I’m not sure how else I could make it work on the face!

Starting on the bottom row, we have “Sunray,” which I would describe as a peachier version of “White Sand.” This shade has a lot of golden glitter, which looks awesome in photos, but a little odd in natural lighting. I feel like this shade will give you an Instagram worthy highlight in flash photography, but it kind of emphasizes texture and comes across super unnatural in person. I was also displeased with this formula because it was super chunky, most likely from all the glitter packed into the pan.

“Amber Gold” is another extremely glittery shade that has a ton of champagne and gold reflects. This one has a creamier formula, which makes the glitter blend out into nothing once applied onto your cheeks, but still…I don’t know why the majority of these shades are packed with so much loose glitter. None of the other Anastasia Glow Kits that I have tried have this formula, so I don’t know what exactly enticed the brand to change it up.

Lastly, we have “Hot Sand” which is a really gorgeous bronze-rose gold color. I really love the formula and pigmentation on this shade. It is super creamy and blends out gorgeously on the face. Unfortunately, it is too dark to highlight on my skin tone, but I think it may work whenever I have a tan in the summertime! I found it looks gorgeous as a blush/bronzer topper when I am going for that extra glowy look!

For my final review of this product, I find myself a little conflicted on if I should recommend this to you. At $45 total, that makes each highlight $7.50, which seems like a great value for a brand known for it’s high quality makeup products. Whenever I switched these, I could tell immediately that they were inconsistent in the formula from shade-to-shade. It was also upsetting to see that these didn’t have the same glossy texture like the other Glow Kits seem to have. I think these shades may be perfect for someone and a lot of this is just personal preference. On a day-to-day basis, I personally don’t wear a super glittery highlight because it does emphasize my pores and is super obvious in natural lighting. I am not sure if I’ll return this or not because there are a few colors I can make wearable and the others I can use as an eyeshadow.

With that said, I would highly recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in “That Glow” because those shades are super creamy, pigmented and perfect for that glossy, natural glow that I love so much in a highlight! For whatever reason this kit in, “Ultimate Glow” is not as wearable and definitely not as easy to work with as the other palettes I’ve tried by Anastasia. I hope you found this review somewhat helpful, even though I have an undecided verdict! I think there is good and bad to this particular glow kit, but it would ultimately be up to personal preference on what you look for in a highlight to decide whether or not the value is there! If you have tried this, what ways do you use the glittery shades to make them work on an every-day basis? Let me know!

The Best Affordable Fall Eyeshadow Palette!

If you have been searching high and low for the perfect Fall eyeshadow palette, well look no further! The Morphe 35O – 35 Color Nature Glow eyeshadow palette is only $22.99! So you are getting 35 richly pigmented, shimmery and matte eye shadows that are all warm-toned, Fall shades. I find this palette is amazing for both daytime and dramatic looks since it has a variety of light and dark colors. Also there a couple of eyeshadows in this palette that give off an intense foiled effect that you can usually only find in high-end eyeshadow formulas. If you are just starting out with makeup and looking to build your collection, then you should definitely purchase this palette! Morphe also has a lot of other eyeshadow palettes on their website that are all matte or cool toned or neon if you aren’t into this particular one!

When I began swatching these shadows, I realized just how pigmented they are and buttery soft! I find that it is so hard to find affordable matte shadows that aren’t chalky. However, these are so soft and blend out like a dream so you can’t go wrong! The shimmery shades are just as beautiful and give your eyes just the perfect amount of definition. There are so many gorgeous all-over-the-lid shades to help you achieve an easy, quick eye look. As I mentioned before, you’ll see in the swatches that there are a few foiled shades that are so bright and glittery! I love these eyeshadows because they look like a loose glitter pigment, but they’re 10 x easier to apply since they’re in a pressed pan and don’t have any annoying fall out! Here are some swatches row-by-row!

I wanted to mention that there are always coupon codes floating around to save even more money on Morphe makeup! I always use the code “JACLYN” for an extra 10% off! Also since these are only available online (since I live in MD and not California) you do have to purchase online at MorpheBrushes.com or click the link here to shop the 35O palette directly! I want to do another blog post on my favorite Morphe brushes because they are really high quality and very affordable! I know the 35O palette is so popular and loved by many, but I want to try out another palette and see if it’s just as good! What is your favorite eyeshadow palette by Morphe? What brushes do you love using? Let me know because I would love to try those out!

Sephora Favorites: Trending: Beauty’s Most Coveted! Is it worth it?!

I am always sucked into buying holiday sets from Sephora! I came across the, “Trending: Beauty’s Most Coveted” after browsing the dangerously addicting “Just Added” section on my Sephora app! It is described as, “A multibranded sampler set of beauty’s most coveted SPF, lip, eyeliner, setting spray, lipstick, mascara, and primer products.” I always enjoy these sets since they include top-rated products from multiple brands! I always enjoy trying new things, but of course it’s a bonus when you know the products are best selling and widely admired by other makeup lovers! I also was impressed with the variety of face, lip and eye products in this kit! I rarely see skincare products featured in these sampler boxes, so a Foreo and Glamglow item made this seem very valuable! The exact price of this set is $75, but claims to be worth a value of $219! Keep reading this review to find out my thoughts on trying the majority of these products out for the first time and whether or not I think this is truly worth your money!

Face Products

beautyblender Nude: This is one of the full-size products that is offered in the kit! I am a huge fan of the original hot pink beautyblender, so I was really excited to try this one out and see if there was any difference between the two! I’ve been testing this specific beautyblender over the last couple weeks and so far I’ve noticed that it doesn’t expand as large as the original pink one. However, I think I like this one more because it seems softer and bouncier. Another huge bonus is that the nude color doesn’t show foundation stains as terribly as the pink one does. I would say this is a great addition in the kit and a useful full-size product to include.

Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Moonstone” (0.08 oz/ 2.51 mL):
I absolutely love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector highlights because they’re a powder formula, which makes application quick and easy, but they are formulated to be super creamy so they glide on skin without clinging to any dry spots! The shade “Moonstone” is perfect for lighter skin tones that want a bright, champagne shade with pearl undertones! If you have medium to darker skin tones, I would recommend using it as an eye shadow since it’s the perfect size to fit a shader brush in and swipe all over the lid for a fresh, awake look!

Cover FX Enhance Click in “Bubbly” (0.17 oz/ 5.02 mL):
This is my first time trying out a product from Cover FX and I couldn’t be happier that it is a highlighting product! Also this is another full-size product in the kit, which is regularly priced at $18! I think this cream highlight is stunning and would be suitable for any skin tone! It is a gorgeous rosy peach shade that blends beautifully on top of any blush shade you apply. It is a very natural glow as opposed to a shimmery/glittery highlight. I can see this product working wonderfully on mature skin since it is moisturizing and does not sink into or emphasize fine lines.

FOREO LUNA Play in Fuchsia:
This is also a full-size product, however I really wish this wasn’t included in the overall value of this kit. At first glance, I was super excited to be getting a product from the FOREO line, which is a high-end cleansing system that has rivaled by longtime favorite Clarisonic. I feel like this is super misleading though because it doesn’t have charging capabilities and only has enough battery to last for 2 weeks of cleansing. This seems super annoying, but that is apparently the purpose of the “Play” device, intended to give users a sample for $39 so they can justify splurging on the re-chargeable version that is over $200. Well this Foreo Play only worked for 3 cleansings…then it didn’t turn on again…so…yeah. I’m not sure if I just got a bad one in my kit or something, but this was pretty frustrating since I know this product held a lot of weight in the overall value of this kit. This is why I wish they just didn’t include this product at all and gave us another couple products that could justify the $39 value of this device.

Glamglow Supermud (0.3 oz/ 8.87 mL):
I was extremely excited that they included this product in the kit because it is amazing stuff! I have lived off samples of the Glamglow Supermud mask because it is $70 full-size and I just can’t justify that expensive of a face mask. However, this stuff is GOOD! It will minimize your pores, draw out any excess oil, but not over dry your skin! My absolute favorite way to use this product is to apply to blemish overnight and wake up with it completely vanished! I would highly recommend purchasing any set that has this product in there since you only need a small amount for big results!

Laura Mercier Travel Size Translucent Loose Setting Powder + Puff (0.33 oz/ 9.75 mL):
I have tried this product repurchased so many times! This is my all time favorite setting powder and all of the hype built around this product is real! It will not settle into fine lines and it will last all day long. It works great for dry skin and oily skin, mature skin, all the skins! Also this product will not flash-back in photos, so yay for no ghostly white under eye areas! I am so happy I have this travel size now because the full-size is a bit bulky in my travel makeup bag!

NARS Cosmetics Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard (0.04 oz/ 1.41 mL):
I have been wanting to test out this concealer for such a long time, but it is rather expensive and I have never been one that is drawn to purchase NARS products. The shade “Custard” is perfect for a subtle brightening effect underneath my eyes on my medium-olive skin tone. This formula is amazing and provides a lot of coverage! It is super creamy, but blends out perfectly without settling into lines. It is kind of a bummer that Sephora doesn’t allow you to choose the shade that comes in the box so people of all skin tones can enjoy this product. I would definitely recommend that for future boxes, they allow customers to choose their concealer shades because one color definitely doesn’t suit all and that is pretty unfair.

Tarte Marine Boosting 4-in-1 Mist (0.24 oz/ 7 mL):
I used this product as a setting mist for the first time and I really liked it! I felt like it was super refreshing and took away that powdery-effect that can tend to happen with makeup. I didn’t notice that this product pro-longed the wear of my makeup, but I do think it gave my skin a healthy appearance with a subtle glow, which will be perfect for the colder months when my skin starts to become more dry! My plan for this product is to keep this tiny sample in my purse so I can freshen up my face throughout the day!

Eye Products

Benefit Cosmetics Ka-Brow! in Shade 3 (0.03 oz/ 0.88 mL): I have been obsessed with my Anastasia dip brow lately, but was excited to try yet another brow pomade product! I was so pleasantly surprised by this Ka-Brow! and actually feel like it will replace my longtime favorite dip brow! The formula creates perfect, hair-like density in your eyebrows that looks super natural, yet defined. It is also smudge proof and long lasting, which are both musts in any eyebrow product! I will definitely be repurchasing this product in the full-size once I finish this!

The Estée Edit The Edgiest Kohl Shadowstick in 01 Black Viper (0.04 oz/ 1.44 mL):
This is a full-size eyeliner in black, which is super helpful to have on hand! I noticed this product was very easy to smudge onto the lower lashine, but didn’t end up lasting on my waterline. This happens a lot with other eyeliners on me specifically because I have very watery eyes, but it was kind of disappointing that I couldn’t get the most out of this eyeliner that claims to not budge in the tight line. I think this will make a great eyeshadow base whenever I apply a foiled eyeshadow on top to intensify some of my darker and more colorful shades. This wasn’t my favorite in the kit, but it wasn’t a complete waste and I do feel like I can get some use out of it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper (0.02 oz/ 5.91 mL):
A holy-grail eyeliner for me! If you have been struggling with eyeliner and can’t seem to perfect your wing, you need to go out and buy this product! I have gone through so many and will never stop buying it! It is by far the longest lasting liquid liner I’ve ever tried and will never flake or crumble. The felt tip applicator makes flicking out your winged liner super easy! I am so happy I received a full-size of this incredible eyeliner because I know I’ll definitely use this product and get my money’s worth!

Lip Products

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 714 (0.11 oz/ 3.25 mL): I have never tried a lipstick from Urban Decay, so I was really excited to receive this full-size product in the kit! I wasn’t particularly thrilled that it was in a bright red shade, but that is just because I rarely wear a true-red lip on a regular basis! I would’ve personally preferred a mauve color or violet shade, something a bit more on trend! With that said, this lipstick is beautiful formula! It is so comfortable on the lips and does not budge! I find it is pretty rare to find a lipstick that not only moisturizes, but also lasts through eating and drinking.

Overall, I feel torn on when deciding whether or not you should purchase this set. It doesn’t suit every skin tone, which is super annoying because there are more people than just light-medium in the world and Sephora is well aware of this. I was also super disappointed in the FOREO Play device because it has such an unfairly high price point for only working twice…like honestly what a waste. I feel like the other products outweigh this one dud, but still, it’s pretty annoying. I feel like there have been other Sephora Favorites kits released in years past that I liked more, but I don’t dislike this kit enough to return it because the full-size products were mostly items I am already purchasing and love! Let me know your opinions on the Trending: Beauty’s Most Coveted Kit and whether or not you think it’s worth it!

Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo Review!

Touch In Sol, Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo, $25.

I’m the type of girl who finds glitter appropriate for any occasion. Daytime or nighttime, I love to wear shimmery shades on my eyelids with zero shame. The “Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo” is a double-ended, liquid and glitter eyeshadow duo that claims to be very pigmented and long-lasting! I had initially checked out this product while browsing Sephora.com, but it didn’t have a lot of reviews at the time, so I decided to skip out. I was recently watching Jaclyn Hill and she was raving about how amazing this product is, so I decided to pick it up before all the colors sold out! I got mine in the shade, “Margaret” which is described as a champagne shade online. I do think it is more of a copper-champagne shade just because it has more of a rusty undertone than gold.

I decided to use the M.A.C paint pot in “Soft Ochre” before applying the liquid eyeshadow. I wanted to use a more “dry” formula of primer to prevent any creasing that tends to come with gel or liquid eyeshadow products. I applied the liquid eyeshadow straight from the applicator and onto my eyelids. Then I buffed out the edges and smoothed it over by gently tapping my finger over the lid. Next, I used a blending brush with no eyeshadow on it and tried to blend the edges of the liquid. I took the Makeup Geek eyeshadow in the shade, “Peach Smoothie” to provide some definition to my crease and further blend the eyelid color. I also took another Makeup Geek eyeshadow in the shade “Bitten” and blended it into my outer crease for a wide-eye effect.

Left side: Liquid eyeshadow only. Right side: Glitter layered on top.

Now it is time for the best part of all; GLITTER! I sprayed a flat shader brush with some M.A.C Fix Plus Spray to give the loose glitter something to stick to and act as a mixing medium. Then I applied directly to my eyelids, making sure to not get glitter into the crease and only stick to the lid. I kept my eye closed for about 30 seconds to help it dry and prevent the glitter from transferring onto my brow bone area. I immediately noticed how finely milled the glitter is, making it comfortable and not scratchy-feeling on the eyes. As you can see in the photo, it layers beautifully onto the liquid shadow, giving you a richly pigmented and metallic look!

I wore this makeup look for 10 hours and was pleasantly surprised at how well both the liquid and glitter eye shadow lasted throughout the day. I will say that there was little fallout from some sparkles coming loose and transferring onto my brow bone and cheek bones. Nothing too intense though and certainly not a deterrent from purchasing this product. I was also very happy that this eyeshadow did not irritate my eyelids at all! I read that it is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates, which is always wonderful to discover!

The “Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo” is totally worth it if you are a glitter lover like me! At $25, I would say it’s fairly priced because it’s double ended and a high quality formula! There are 5 shades in the range, so you’re bound to find a color that suits your preference best! What other new products have your eye this holiday season? Let me know!
